After much heartache and consternation, we have decided to sell our business of over 7 years.  This decision has not come easily but we feel it is something we must do.

This is everything you need to get into the pattern business!

Software and non-equipment  (Click on Thumbnails for larger picture)

• All the patterns we have currently converted plus those we have not.

• Gerber software + key for printing, making markers, creating and modifying patterns etc. Cost - $5,000 

• Sample of the original artwork of the various garments (We have MANY of these).
  

• Ownership of the domain names commonsensepatterns.com and commonsensedesign.com.

• All the backup files for the years that Common Sense Designs was in business.

• All the original paper patterns before they were digitized.

• Professional designed web site (the one you are seeing now) along with 1 full year of server hosting at no charge.  Minor changes made for free to help transition to your business.  After initial changes you can either purchase FrontPage and make your own changes or I will make changes at my current rate of $60 per hour.

• Includes SSL (Secure Site License) until it expires, for sending encrypted orders on-line.

Equipment 

• Gerber Industrial model 310 Flat-bed Plotter (recently completely serviced) 7' long. - This is a very heavy duty plotter that will last for many years.  Retails for over $10,000.

• Includes extra ink cartridges (Box of 3 very large ink cartridges will last at least 1 year - Cost $100.00

• Partial roll of paper (uses 6' wide 30 lb paper on a 500' roll) - Cost of $90.00 per roll.  A roll lasts approximately 3 months. 

• Full Size Digitizer Board for creating completely new patterns (never used by us). Retails for around $3,000
  

• IOmega USB Disk drive for reading/creating backups.

Other information still coming - actual receipts for the year.  We are netting from $15,000-$20,000 profit per year after expenses.  Will give exact figures after I finish the taxes.

Q.   Hello. I would like to know how much time this business requires each week? Thanks.......T.W
A.   Great question.  We usually print 25 patterns on each roll.  That can be different numbers of actual patterns.  We were talking about this last evening and we figured it takes about 3-4 hours for each 'roll' of patterns.  We have to print the patterns, bring the completed roll down, make up the bags for packaging, cut the patterns and fold them to put in the bags, print the instructions and then combine the patterns into each order and package for shipping.
